Singletrack to Success

The Singletrack to Success Project is an initiative aimed at engaging the Yukon’s First Nation youth in trail building and mountain biking as a means to meaningful employment, reconnection to ancestral lands, health and wellness, and economic development opportunities. We’re building (desti)nations, one trail a time.

I was approached by the organization to give their logo a more indigenous feel. They wanted to pay respect to the Yukon First Nation’s people but didn’t know how to do that and didn’t want to offend anyone. Since this project is in Carcross, Yukon and home to the Carcross/Tagish First Nation whom are of Tagish and Tlingit ancestry I wanted to collaborate with a local artist.  The finished piece now pays hommage to the First Nation’s people and showcases their culture and art.
